OUR ANNUAL SHOW
Vintage in Action
Celebrating vintage machinery doing what it was built to do.
Held annually on the second Sunday in August, Vintage in Action brings together vintage machinery, vehicles, engines and enthusiasts for a celebration of our engineering and agricultural heritage.
With working demonstrations alongside traditional displays, the show gives visitors the chance to see our machinery heritage brought to life.
A New Chapter for Our Annual Show
Three Cocks Vintage Society introduced Vintage in Action in 2026, creating a new format for our long-running annual event.
For the first time, the show moved from Boatside Farm to Clyro Court, near Hay-on-Wye. David Hodby and the Baskerville family kindly made the new venue available to us.
Rather than simply displaying vintage machinery, we wanted visitors to see more machines at work. Therefore, demonstrations ran throughout the day, showing how machinery once worked the land and tackled everyday jobs.
In addition, Vintage in Action featured a wide variety of displays. These included tractors, steam, cars and vans, commercial vehicles and military vehicles.
Visitors could also see motorcycles, horticultural machinery, static engines and vintage tractor pulling. Meanwhile, traditional tools and memorabilia added another glimpse into the past.
Vintage Machinery in Action
At the heart of the show is the opportunity to see vintage machinery working rather than simply standing on display.
As a result, visitors can experience the sights, sounds and movement of machines from years gone by. It’s also an opportunity to meet the enthusiasts who restore, maintain and preserve them.
Whether you’re passionate about vintage machinery or simply looking for an interesting day out, Vintage in Action offers something for all ages.
